Open Show - 24th January 2009 at Thainstone Exchange

This was the Second Bon-Accord-Kennel-Association show to be held at the Thainstone Exchange Centre in Inverurie. The show attracter 600 dogs with an entry 863 which was up on last year. Thank you to everyone who gave us a superb entry. 

Some Judging started at 9:30 and by 10:00 all rings were in use. Two halls were in use this year which relieved some of the crowding issue from last year. A positve point raised was catalogues were collected in one hall with trade stands and restaurant in the other therefore exhibitors in both halls mixed together.  

The main winners kindly agreed to publish their dog’s photos on this site. 

We had generous sponsors, mainly Mackie's Ice Cream (increased the cash to Best Puppy in Group to £14 and 1 litre of Mackie's icecream), Norvite (£10 voucher for Best in Group), Tim Glover (donated bags of dog food for BIS, BPIS, SBVIS). Thank you to all the members and exhibitors for raffle prizes donated agian making the BAKA raffle tables the envy of many dog shows.

One problem which we wish to make all exhibitors aware of is that Thainstone holds one of the biggest outdoor/indoor Sunday Markets.  The car park is therefore used by car boot sellers on the Sunday with several hundred people walking about, the problem is that some exhibitors left dog foul in the car park.  They may not realise that the venue is used on a Sunday but as I am sure you understand if we lose this venue there isn't another one of this size in the North-East.  We have to make everyone aware that the car park has to be kept cleaner than the venue, so your help in this matter would be greatly received.
